(Oze is the special preservation area in Nikko National Park, and is the 'Special Natural Treasure' of a state)
September 6 and 7. Forty-one people participated in a cleanup of Oze and hiking. On the first day, having received garbage bags and badges, we started cleaning up in light rain. Although thanks to the emphasis on environmental protection at Oze there was very little garbage to be found, most of us had our garbage bags about half-full by the time we reached the TEPCO lodge at Ozegahara. On the second day, the weather was fine. We enjoyed the great outdoors of Oze, reaching our final destination at the summit of Numayama-toge by way of Oze-numa.
