Nuclear Reactor Core Management

Fuel supplied by GNF-J is loaded in the core of a nuclear reactor and used for four to five years. Fuels are replaced with fresh fuels in order of depletion of energy every annual cycle. We are supporting electric power companies by providing the recommendations on optimum fuel replacement and operation to achieve safe and economical operation.

[ Reactor core design ]
Hundreds of fuel bundles are placed in a nuclear reactor. The number of fuel bundles to be replaced and the optimum placement of each fuel bundle in a reactor are determined in accordance with the core characteristics.

[ Core characteristics prediction ]
Analysis programs are used to predict core characteristics during operation so as to achieve the optimum reactor core design.
